About

“Welcome to Reaching Beyond. Taking the first step is often one of the hardest things to do. By being here, you are showing your courage to change!”

I believe we are all intrinsically capable of change. And, I believe change begins with the awareness of a need, or desire, to change—an impetus. Our need for change comes from our desire to reach beyond where we are. Sometimes our motivation to change is a response to an environmental or situational force; other times it may be a personal response to our own vision to become something different from what we currently are. Regardless of your reason, I am committed to walk with you on the journey of change, to ask you the necessary questions, and to provide you with helpful tools to heal, to grow, to connect, to belong, and to reach beyond your present circumstances.

I speak English and Mandarin Chinese and provide clinical services in both languages.

My Credentials

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree from Trinity Western University. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

My Work

I established my private practice to work with diverse clients and a variety of concerns. Besides my private practice, I have also worked as a specialized trauma counsellor in various community counselling services. My clients of all ages, ranging from 3-years-old to 80-years-old. In order to meet the unique needs of each of my clients, I have pursued specialized training, including, but not limited to, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Observed & Experiential Integration (OEI), Lifespan Integration (LI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, expressive therapies (play and art), trauma informed yoga, and Emotion Focused Therapy (see more on my Specializations page). I also provide couples counselling utilizing the Gottman Method. My integrative approach is grounded in attachment and emotion-focused frameworks. Therapeutically, I strive to help my clients in addressing early childhood influences to understand how they relate to self and to others, learning CBT skill building techniques to manage immediate life challenges, and experience trauma processing to heal from past hurts.

In addition to my clinical practice, I also offer workshops, presentations, and group therapy facilitations.
