Therapy that Works with Your Brain
Available online to neurodivergent clients across British Columbia
Where We Begin
If you’ve been told that what you need is more acceptance, more self-compassion, more permission to be yourself — and none of it has actually changed how exhausted you are, or how hard your life still feels — you’re not broken, and you’re not missing some final piece of self-love. You’re missing a different kind of work.
How We Work
Here’s how we do it. First, we get clear on who you really are — not the version other people handed you, but the one that was buried underneath it the whole time. Then we work on how to actually live as that person — removing the barriers that made you feel like you were failing, when the real problem was a method that was never built for how your mind works. And then we go further: we learn how to use what makes you different as a real advantage. When everyone else zigs, you zag. That’s not something to manage. That’s an edge most people will never have.
The Identity Work
Many of my ND clients arrive carrying an identity that was never accurate — shaped by teachers, parents, bosses, or family who misread their differences as laziness, defiance, or failure to try. That identity is often the deepest wound, and it carries weight long after childhood. We start by helping you learn who you really are — the genuine struggles and the strengths that were always there. Then we use the same depth trauma work I bring to every client to metabolize what was handed to you, so you’re free to tap into your strengths and leverage them to build a life of success, your way.
The Moving Target
Many ND clients have spent enormous energy trying to be like someone else — not from their own choosing, but because they thought it was their only option. That someone else always seemed to have it figured out, and life always seemed to come easily to them. The trouble is that target keeps moving — work wants one version of you, family another, romance another — and chasing a moving target is what burns people out, along with a quiet, unnamed grief underneath: the sense of never once being accepted as who you really are.
What actually happened is two things layered on top of each other — people who should have understood you got it wrong, and a wider world built mostly with one kind of mind in view made it worse, often benefiting from exactly the differences it punished. From here, the work is about something different: the agency to choose, deliberately, which parts of yourself to reveal — a choice that stays yours to revisit, today and tomorrow, rather than something decided for you by whoever’s in the room. You no longer have to earn the right to be known. The people around you have to earn the right to know you.
The Clinical Approach
My work with neurodivergent adults is grounded in both specialized clinical training and a personal understanding of what it means to navigate a world that wasn’t built for a different kind of mind. I bring that understanding into the room — holding both the real challenges of a different kind of mind and the very real strengths that often go unrecognized.
I draw on Lifespan Integration, Observed & Experiential Integration, and EMDR — not as a fixed menu, but as a dynamic range tailored to what your nervous system is ready for at any given moment. Some clients come having tried EMDR and found it too activating — there are gentler approaches that work at the same depth. For many ND clients, beginning with Lifespan Integration — which works with your own life story in a guided, collaborative way — allows the system to organize before deeper trauma processing begins.
The methods that work for neurotypical minds often simply don’t fit, and that’s not a you problem — that’s a method problem. Here, we work on both: removing the barriers, and then learning to leverage what makes your mind different so you can use it to succeed — in the ways that matter to you, in a world that is increasingly shaped by people who think differently.
Who This Is For
This work is a good fit if you:
- Have been diagnosed with ADHD, AuDHD, or suspect you may be neurodivergent
- Are high-functioning or twice-exceptional — capable in many areas and still struggling in ways others don’t see or understand
- Have tried therapy before and felt unseen, or found the approach didn’t fit how your mind works
- Are ready to do something real with your differences — not just accept them, but use them
- Want lasting change, not strategies to manage symptoms
